Balkumari Temple, Thimi, Bhaktapur

One of the religious and cultural place of Thimi where a big festival of Thimi, Biska Jatra is celebrated on every year Baisakh 2nd with 19 palanquins together. During jatra the sounds of Dhime and Bhusya, crowds of people, the vermillon powder, the chhatras and the disciplined palanquins following was really amazing. A pagoda style three storeys roofed
temple with wonderful architecture will definately attract every visitor.

Nil Barahi Temple

Nil Barahi Temple is located in Tigani of Madhyapur Thimi. A religious place in the middle of forest. The best place for picnic and day out. The green forest with natural beauty are really nice. This place can be easily reached by passing Bode and Tigani, a small newa town. Lots of monkeys can be seen there. Needs more protection and preservation of the place from landslides.

Bhimsen Temple

Bhimsen Temple
Bhimsen Temple, Thimi
Bhimsen Temple is wonderful place with typical and different styled temple near to Siddhikali Temple of Thimi. This temple is surrounded by three historical stone tap and Shiva Temple. On the day of Bhim Dwadashi number of people come here to worship Bhimsen. A small river (khucha) flows by this temple. Locals of upper part Thimi come to this Khucha for offering Pinda to their anchestors after completing shraddha. But due to name of development this Khucha was changed to drain and now its covered everywhere. This Khucha is also related to Gathemangal Festival where three Gathamuga of Thimi are dragged to this river and burned near river side and people used to throw water each other from the river. But nowadays its only limited to memory and history to throw water from that river because no river exists now.
